Freedom, positive vibrations, and transcendence only a few associations felt when you partake in a Warren Jones performance. It would be easy to say he was born to sing if you knew he’d sang his first song at 3. But the truth is Warren was born to heal. Singing, songwriting, and performing are some of the ways he does this.
Serving as a sort of antidote for the collective needs of the people, he provides a holistic-musical-medicinal retreat for the soul. His music is a reggae fusion blend composed of R&B, Lovers Rock, and Culture with a Pop twist. As he channels his musical influences like Miles Davis, Bob Marley, Buju Banton, Sizzla, Capleton, Damian, and Stephen Marley.
Shuffled from Hanover, Jamaica to Nassau, Bahamas and eventually the states at age 9, all the travel fanned the flames of Warren’s wanderlust. He was later given the name The Road Warrior, bestowed on him for all of his adventure and insatiable need for travel and knowledge. Adventure became a verb for Warren, travel a passion, and music a birthright.
Aunt Melores Jones is the reason Warren found music at all. Raising him since he was 6 months old her mission was not only to raise a man but to assist Warren in finding himself as an artist and musician. He began drawing and became a classically trained trumpet player as a means to quail his extreme boredom. Each outlet became necessary forms of self-expression alongside dance and poetry.
As life came, Warren hadn’t always had an expectation of being a solo music artist, but he’d always known he’d be a musician. Even after moving on from the R&B group he co-created in high school, he could not move on from music.
Today, his musical sonogram will take you on a journey of soul reflection and inner healing. Imparting reality, positivity, empowerment, love, inspiration, spiritual awareness, and honoring God.
